THE LAKE
Lake Kariba is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, sitting along the mighty Zambezi River.
Lake levels, vegetation, fishing and game all vary seasonally. Kariba has a fairly prominent rainy season from late-November until March. The dry season usually lasts from May until October during which time the lake levels rise as water from surrounding rivers filters into the lake from the previous rains.
The Zambezi River Authority provides daily, monthly and seasonal updates on the lake, hydropower generation, game and fishing on their website.
